Born and raised in Paris, Texas, Sue moved to Oregon with her husband John. Sue’s solid bass playing has been featured in such well-known bands as Good ‘n’ Country, Kentucky Rose, Train 145, the Vern Williams Band She also lends a voice in singing tenor or high baritone and others.
A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mike started playing Bluegrass music as a teenager. He first played banjo in such groups as The Sawtooth Mountain Boys and the Vern Williams Band, switching to fiddle in 1987. "I began fiddle as a third instrument in 1967 never dreaming it would become my main instrument." Mike's chief influence is the great fiddler Benny Martin.
Becoming interested in Bluegrass music as a sophomore at the UW in Madison, Wisconsin, David found himself suddenly in a working band and learning tunes on the fly. Moving to Eugene in 1972 he made the acquaintance of the Averill's and soon after that a bunch of other great pickers. He's had the pleasure, over the years, to be in various bands with these folks (Good'n'Country and Kentucky Rose), and is thoroughly enjoying being a part of Lee Highway. Besides his love of bluegrass music, David is also a part of the classical music scene, performing with the Eugene Symphony Chorus and Eugene Opera and several other ensembles in the area.

Since moving to Oregon in 1970, John has been a member of several bluegrass bands which include Good ‘n’ Country, Mason Williams, Kentucky Rose, The Sawtooth Mountain Boys and Train 145. John plays mandolin and sings lead and tenor.

A native of Webster Groves, Missouri, Mike has played 5-string banjo with such Northwest bands as Sunny South, New Moon and The Sawtooth Mountain Boys. Mike teaches bluegrass banjo at Portland Community College and has recorded two banjo CDs.
